At St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Ōtāhuhu, the task was clear and demanding. The heritage-listed building no longer supported the needs of its growing and diverse community, and it required seismic strengthening alongside a broader renewal.
Working with Reverb Heritage, MSC Consultants, and Construction Management Group Ltd, BSM Group Architects led a redevelopment that retained the church’s historic character while introducing major new extensions and improved earthquake resilience.
The completed project delivers a place of worship that is stronger, more welcoming, and well suited to future generations, while remaining recognisably St Andrew’s.
