At All Saints Church in Ponsonby, the focus was on strengthening a significant mid-century building while respecting its architectural character. Designed by Richard Toy and completed in 1957, the church holds an important place in Auckland’s ecclesiastical and architectural history.
BSM Group Architects led a comprehensive upgrade that reinforced the building’s structure to meet current seismic standards, while retaining the clarity and intent of the original design. Careful retrofitting and material improvements supported long-term safety and durability.
The refreshed interior and exterior palette was selected to align with existing features, ensuring the church continues to serve its community with dignity and purpose for generations to come.
